As Christians faithful across the globe celebrate this year’s Christmas, the Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, has called upon the Christian community in the institution to embrace the true essence of Christmas by embodying the values exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Engr. Abdul, in a statement issued and signed by the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Halimat Garba, disclosed that Christmas is more than a festive occasion, stressing that it is a profound reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ, which embodies love, humility, and hope.
According to the Rector, “This season reminds us to extend kindness, generosity, and compassion to those around us. Sharing, whether through time, resources, or acts of kindness, reflects the heart of Christmas and strengthens our bonds as brothers and sisters in Christ.”
He urged Christian staff to use the opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who came into the world to bring salvation and light to humanity, noting that emulating Christ’s qualities such as selflessness, forgiveness, and unwavering love shows that they honour the purpose of his birth and live out the message Christmas carries.
While wishing them a blessed and meaningful Christmas, Engr. Abdul re-emphasized his administration’s commitment to staff and students’ welfare.
