The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided different stages through which candidates may encounter during the admission process on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Candidates checking their admission status may see terms such as “Proposed,” “Recommended,” “In Progress,” “Admitted” or “Not Admitted.”
Here is what the different statuses generally indicate:
– Proposed: The candidate’s admission has been proposed and is awaiting further processing.
– Recommended: The candidate has been recommended by the institution for admission and the process is progressing.
– In Progress: The admission is still undergoing processing.
– Admitted: The candidate has received an admission offer and can proceed to accept or reject the offer on JAMB CAPS.
– Not Admitted: No admission offer has been recorded at the time of checking. Candidates are advised to keep checking, as admission offers may be released in batches.
