Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the perimeter fencing of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, to curb land encroachment and protect the institution’s vast expanse.
The Rector, Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammad, disclosed this on Monday at a media parley themed “The New Kwara in Kwarapoly”, organised by the Department of Strategic Communications and Media Studies. He thanked the governor, describing him as a calm, calculative and compassionate leader.
Delivering a lecture at the event, the governor’s Senior Adviser/Counsellor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to digital, science and technical education. He highlighted the impact of digital tools and Smart Schools on service delivery and educational development, noting that Kwara Polytechnic is ranked fourth among its peers nationwide.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, represented by Mrs. Rodihat Yahaya, commended the institution’s management for positioning students for greater opportunities.
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and former NNPCL non-executive director, Dr. Muhammad Ghali Alaya, praised the polytechnic’s management for safeguarding its facilities and advised students to avoid distractions and excel academically.
He equally praises the Rector’s efforts towards overcoming the challenges faced in the recent time. He also said strategic achievement is not something built on rush hour but little by little through findings. Also urge the students of Strategic not to underrate anybody.
