The outgoing Customs Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Area Command, Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo, has formally handed over leadership of the Command to the incoming Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi.
In a statement issued by SM Suleiman , Deputy Superintendent of Customs ,Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Area Command and obtained by EMPEROR TV REPORTS on Wednesday
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Comptroller Ojeifo expressed deep appreciation to officers and men of the Command, sister security agencies, and critical stakeholders for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure. He noted that the collective effort of all parties contributed to notable achievements in revenue generation, enforcement operations, and service delivery.
According to him, the Command recorded commendable successes through teamwork and professionalism, stressing his confidence in the capacity and experience of the new Acting Controller. He urged officers and men to extend maximum support, loyalty, and cooperation to DC Ogundeyi to enable him succeed.
“I remain grateful to the Comptroller General of Customs for the opportunity to serve, and I wish the Kwara Command continued peace, progress, and operational excellence,” Ojeifo said.
In his response, the Acting Area Controller, DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi, thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, FNIPR, PhD, and the NCS management for the confidence reposed in him to serve in the new capacity.
He also commended Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo (rtd) for his dedication, professionalism, and exemplary leadership, noting that his tenure laid a solid foundation for sustained progress within the Command.
“As I assume this office, I am fully aware of the responsibilities and challenges it entails. I am committed to upholding the standards, values, and excellence of the Service,” Ogundeyi stated.
The Acting Controller emphasized teamwork, professionalism, transparency, and discipline as the pillars of his leadership style, assuring that his administration would be guided by mutual respect, strict adherence to rules and regulations, and commitment to effective service delivery.
He called on officers and personnel to accord him the same level of cooperation and dedication given to his predecessor, pledging to consolidate on existing achievements while addressing emerging challenges.
“Together, we shall work diligently to advance the progress of this Command,” he added.
