Ahmed Musa has officially retired from international football, ending a 15-year career with the Super Eagles.
The former captain announced his decision on social media, bringing the curtain down on one of the most enduring spells in Nigeria’s national team history.
Musa made his Super Eagles debut at just 17 and went on to become the country’s most capped player, earning 111 appearances.
An AFCON winner, he is also Nigeria’s highest goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup, a record that cemented his place in the nation’s football history.
Reflecting on his journey in a message shared on X, Musa described himself as a captain, a servant and a believer who gave everything to the green and white.
He said representing Nigeria was an honour he carried with pride, gratitude and unwavering commitment throughout his career.
