Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, says his administration has allocated N112.7 billion to the education sector in the 2026 budget, underscoring its commitment to human capital development.
The governor said the investment is aimed at improving the state’s education system and driving overall development.
Mohammed spoke on Saturday at the combined eighth, ninth and 10th convocation ceremony of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Gadau, Bauchi State.
He described education as a critical driver of societal growth, noting that his administration considers sustained investment in the sector key to the state’s future.
The governor disclosed that more than 15 per cent of the state’s annual budgets has consistently been allocated to education.
He said N58.02 billion was earmarked for higher education in the 2026 budget, including N40.6 billion for capital projects such as classrooms, hostels, laboratories, ICT centres and staff quarters.
Mohammed listed ongoing interventions at SAZU to include the construction of 20 classrooms, student hostels at Gadau and Yuli campuses, staff quarters, and improved security infrastructure.
