The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan congratulated all newly matriculated students on their successful admission into the citadel of learning. Prof. Olaniyan said the matriculation ceremony marked the beginning of the transformative journey of the students that will shape their intellect, character and future.
The VC in his address said that the newly matriculated students should remember that they are not just joining Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, but they are becoming part of tradition of excellence, integrity and service. He stressed that the years will demand discipline, focus and resilience. He advised to clear goals and plan ahead in order to succeed. Prof. Olaniyan tasked them to take activities of University serious, connect with their course mates and build relationships.
While warning them about the pitfalls, he urged to shun examination malpractice, internet fraudsters, drug abuse and cultism, noting it always ends in disaster and crisis.
He reminded them that they were offered admission through their dedication, perseverance and performance in UTME and Post-UTME. He admonised them to guard their studentships jealousy.
The University management recognised and rewarded a student with the highest score in UTME conducted by JAMB. The University further recognised and rewarded exceptional students in their academic performance across faculties and departments who are in First Class.
The matriculation lecturer, Prof. Stella Odebode in her speech congratulated all matriculants. She urged them to focus on the journey ahead and uphold academic integrity at all times. She reminded that knowledge without character is incomplete and certificates without competence are insufficient.
