Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the Accord Party, bringing weeks of speculation and internal tension within the PDP to an end.
Adeleke’s exit was communicated through a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area.
The governor withdrew his membership on November 4, 2025, citing the deepening leadership crisis at the national level of the party.
Adeleke acknowledged this in his letter, expressing appreciation for the opportunities the party afforded him.
His move is expected to reshape Osun’s political terrain and intensify the ongoing realignments ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
