Kwara State was thrown into relief on Sunday as all 38 worshippers abducted during the attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area were successfully rescued. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq confirmed their release and praised the decisive involvement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the operation.
The victims, taken during a shocking raid on the church, were freed after days of intense security operations across difficult terrains. According to Governor AbdulRazaq, the breakthrough was a direct result of President Tinubu’s “hands-on leadership and unwavering commitment to citizens’ safety.”
Government insiders disclosed that President Tinubu personally monitored the situation from the onset, issuing firm directives to national security agencies and demanding daily updates on progress made toward the victims’ rescue.
Sources also confirmed that the President cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to focus squarely on the security breaches recorded in both Kwara and Kebbi States. Governor AbdulRazaq described this decision as a “powerful demonstration of leadership that prioritises Nigerian lives above all else.”
