The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has identified 203 tertiary institutions across the country that have yet to upload their students’ data for the ongoing 2024/2025 student loan application.
In a statement released on Friday, the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, announced that the loan application portal would reopen for 48 hours to allow the affected schools to comply. The portal will be accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
All tertiary institutions are mandated to upload their students’ information onto the Student Loan Application System (SLAS) to enable eligible applicants to access the Federal Government’s loan scheme.
Oluwatuyi explained that the short extension aims to ensure every qualified student is properly verified and included before the final deadline.
He cautioned that institutions that fail to complete the verification process within the given window will lose the opportunity to participate in the current loan cycle—automatically disqualifying their students from benefiting from the 2024/2025 loan scheme.
