The Kwara State Government has announced the temporary closure of the Challenge Junction–Post Office axis in Ilorin, effective Saturday, August 3, 2025, to facilitate ongoing road infrastructure upgrades.
The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) explained that the closure is aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road flow as part of broader development efforts under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration. According to a statement signed by Olawuyi Gani Olalekan, Head Media/PRO KWARTMA, motorists from Ajase Ipo Road are advised to divert through Police Road and continue via Office Road to access the Post Office Roundabout.
Those coming from Oja Oba are directed to use Muritala Mohammed Way, proceed to Unity Junction, and connect back to Ajase Ipo Road.For traffic from Unity Road, drivers are enjoined to take Ilofa Road through Office Road to reach the Post Office area. KWARTMA urged all road users to obey traffic diversions and cooperate with officials to ensure a smooth transition during this temporary closure.
