The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command has today urged members of the public to provide the police with timely and adequate information to help strengthen security across the state.
Speaking during Arise la rika, a weekly Yoruba radio program on SBS96.9FM that focuses on public officers giving stewardship, the Commissioner emphasized the ongoing synergy between the police command, local hunters, and vigilante groups in tackling crime and maintaining peace in local communities.
In the interview, the Commissioner also reiterated the directive from the Force Headquarters banning police officers from checking citizens’ mobile phones a move aimed at respecting citizens’ privacy and promoting professionalism within the force.
He assured the public that the Kwara State Police Command remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
The Commissioner further urged local government chairmen across the state to be proactive and support the police in maintaining security commending the Kwara State Governor for setting a worthy example in backing the efforts of security agencies.
